Reiki Sādhanā Energy

Reiki (pronounced "ray-key"), translated from Japanese, means "universal life force energy"; it is a nonphysical and omnipresent energy found in and around all living beings. Reiki, as a therapeutic practice, is a relaxation and stress reduction modality that promotes the body's natural ability to heal itself by releasing congestion from energy centers (chakras) and pathways (meridians) to enable a healthy flow of energy.Reiki is a non-invasive and complimentary holistic healing technique that addresses issues affecting the individual on physical, emotional, and spiritual levels and promotes an overall sense of well-being, groundedness, and balance. When received regularly, Reiki has been known to relieve pain, reduce stress and anxiety, aid digestion, improve sleep, strengthen the immune system, and accelerate the recovery of wounds.Reiki does not require belief (also does not conflict with religious beliefs) to work, it can do no harm, and can benefit people of all ages.
What is Sādhanā?
Sādhanā (pronounced "suh-daa-nuh") is an ego-transcending spiritual discipline that is undertaken to attain desired spiritual knowledge or ritual goals such as detachment from worldly materialistic goods, self-reflection, and non-attachment.Sādhanā is integral to my Reiki practice. Through years of practice, I have learned that the deeper I delve into my spiritual disciplines, the deeper I can go with my clients in our sessions.
Many of my clients report feeling a sense of floating or hovering above their body or sinking deeper into the table during treatment. They also report feeling an overall calmness, peace, and wellness during treatment; conditions that have been known to last a few days to a week after treatment. Other bodily sensations reported are tingling, heat or chill, stomach rumbling, and sleepiness.Once your reiki session is complete. I will gently awaken you and provide you with some time to adjust before beginning our post-session discussion. I will give my analysis of the condition of your energetic system (chakra centers and any specific issue spots worth mentioning) and explain anything of interest. I love hearing about my clients' experiences after the session, but I will always respect your right to choose whether or not to share.
What to Expect?
I recommend dressing in loose comfortable clothing for your session. I will have extra blankets to offer should you feel chilly and I respectfully request that you remove your shoes before entering the reiki studio. On the day of your first session, we will spend extra time discussing your goals in pursuing reiki treatments and address any concerns or questions you might have. I will then assist you onto the table and ensure that you are comfortable prior to beginning treatment.Reiki is administered by placing the hands on or slightly above specific parts of the client's body, always avoiding sensitive areas. Along with soothing music and other relaxing environmental sounds, I also enjoy utilizing Tibetan singing bowls, crystal singing bowls, tuning forks, and crystals during treatment. The addition or omission of any aspect of the treatment will be respected and upheld, at your request.
Offered with Reiki
I also offer tarot/oracle card readings (included with a Reiki session) upon request. This is an in-depth Oracle / Tarot Card reading to harness the wisdom of the Universe and delve deeper into your subconscious, uncovering insights and guidance, to navigate challenges and embrace opportunities for growth.

Frequently Asked Questions
1.) What is Reiki?
~ Reiki is an energetic relaxation and stress-reduction modality that promotes the body's natural ability to heal itself.2.) How does Reiki work?
~ Quantum physics suggests that at the most fundamental level, all matter is composed of vibrating energy. Life force energy flows through the physical and energetic bodies of all living creatures. When energy flows unhindered, it nourishes all the cells in the body and supports the organs and tissues with their vital functions. When energy becomes blocked or disrupted, it causes diminished function in the organs and tissues of the physical body.Life force energy is responsive to thoughts and feelings. It becomes disrupted when we accept, either consciously or unconsciously, negative thoughts or feelings about ourselves or the world around us. These negative thoughts and feelings attach themselves to the energy field and disrupt the flow of energy. Reiki assists the energetic system by flowing through affected parts of the energetic field, charging it with positive energy, releasing congestion, and enabling a renewed, healthy flow of energy.3.) What are the potential benefits of a Reiki treatment?
~ Reported benefits of Reiki include a reduction of stress and anxiety, enhanced emotional healing, pain relief, aids relaxation and digestion, improves sleep, strengthens the immune system, and accelerates the recovery of wounds and illness.4.) Are there any negative side effects?
~ The great majority of Reiki recipients report the experience of Reiki to be relaxing, gentle, and uplifting; however, sometimes people experience what is called a "healing crisis". As a person’s vibration rises, the body naturally reorients itself into a cleansing and healing state, and toxins that had been stored in the body will be released into the bloodstream to be filtered by the liver and kidneys and removed from the system. When this happens, sometimes a person can get a headache or stomachache or feel weak for a short while. If this happens, it is encouraged to drink more water, eat lighter meals, and get more rest. The body is cleansing as part of the healing process so this is a good sign.5.) How is Reiki administered in a session?
~ Reiki is administered by gently placing the hands on or slightly above specific parts of the client's body, in a series of positions, traveling from toes to head.6.) What does it feel like?
~ Most clients report feeling a sense of floating or hovering above their body or sinking deeper into the table during treatment. They also report feeling an overall calmness, peace, and wellness during treatment, lasting a few days to a week after treatment. Other bodily sensations reported are tingles, heat or chill, stomach rumbling, and sleepiness.7.) How often should I get Reiki treatments?
~ Initial recommendations are to receive Reiki treatments once a week for the first month, to best acclimate the body and energetic system to the renewed, healthy flow of energy; followed by bi-weekly or monthly "maintenance" treatments.8.) What is the recommended aftercare?
~ It is recommended to increase your water intake, eat healthy meals, and get plenty of rest after a Reiki treatment to assist the body with acclimating to the energetic shifts happening in the body. It can also be super helpful to move the body with practices such as Tai Chi, Yoga, Qigong, dancing, or going for a walk outside, to further release stagnant energy and boost vitality.9.) Is there any scientific proof that Reiki works?
~ Yes! We have teams across the world working to prove the amazing benefits of Reiki! Check out The Center for Reiki Research to read up on specific studies being done.10.) Why should I choose to work with you as my Reiki practitioner?
~ Because I genuinely believe every single person is worthy of being treated with love and care, and most people don't experience nearly enough of that in their daily lives.
In my Reiki sessions, that looks like truly listening without judgment, honoring the individual as a whole, and offering gentle, intentional touch, in a safe and compassionate space.
When someone feels truly seen and accepted, something in them relaxes at a really deep level, and that's where healing begins. Almost anyone can perform Reiki, my greatest gift is helping people feel accepted and cared for in the process. It's not a technique, it's who I am.
